Personal Information Privacy Protection Policy

At WELLESLEY BANK, protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information is important to our employees and to us. We value your business and the trust you put in us. To offer you the financial products and services you seek, we collect, maintain and use information about you on a routine basis. To help you better understand how your personal information is protected here at WELLESLEY BANK, we are providing you with the following statement describing our practices and policies with respect to the privacy of customer information. In the event you terminate your customer relationship with us, or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the policies and practices described in this notice.

Information we collect
As a trusted financial institution, we collect information volunteered by you during the application process, gathered from your transactions and experiences with us, and obtained from other authorized sources, such as credit bureaus.  All non-public personal information collected and stored by Wellesley Bank is used for specific business purposes, such as administering your account, complying with state/federal banking regulations, protecting against fraud, and developing a better understanding of your financial needs to provide you with improved products and services.

Information we share
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to any nonaffiliated third party except as permitted by law.

We may share information with our affiliate* about our experience with you or your account in order to help you complete financial transactions or make you aware of services and products from which you may benefit.  The personal information we collect and share with our affiliate may include your name, address, social security number, account number, telephone number, account balance, payment history, and deposit account activity.

How we protect your information
We understand that the protection of your nonpublic personal information is of the utmost importance. Guarding your privacy is our obligation. WELLESLEY BANK maintains strict procedures and policies to safeguard your privacy. We restrict employee access to customer non-public personal information to only those who have a business reason to know such information, and we educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your non-public personal information.

It’s Your Choice (Opt-out Provision) (Effective October 1, 2008)

Federal law gives you the right to limit some, but not all, marketing from our affiliate.  Federal law also requires us to give you this notice to tell you about your choice to limit marketing from our affiliate. 

You may limit our affiliate from marketing their products or services to you based on personal information that we may collect about you and share with them, including your account history with us.  Your choice to limit marketing offers from our affiliate will apply until you tell us to change your choice.  You can opt back in at any time by written notice to the Bank as detailed below. 

Note:  Your choice will be processed within thirty (30) days of receipt and will remain in place until you change your choice.  Please note that your opt-out choice may not prevent you from being solicited with information already held by or previously shared with our affiliate based on information that the affiliate had on file prior to October, 1, 2008.
